And now, it’s college football betting Week 5, and the time just continues to fly by. On top of that, Week 4 NFL betting action is ready to roll, with a few great games on the board. Be sure to tune in and watch the undefeated Ravens against the the New England Patriots on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at 1:00PM EST. This one promises to be a great game, regardless of what you think about either team 😉 .
There’s college football games on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week, so you’ll probably have your fill of action by the time the NFL wraps up on Monday night. Most of the top college football games happen this Saturday, where there should be some fun games between nationally ranked teams.
Things start at 12:00 PM EST on Saturday with No. 6 Virginia Tech vs. Duke University. There’s not a question that Va Tech will take this one without too much trouble. The next nationally ranked team at 12:00 PM EST is No. 22 Michigan vs Michigan State. This game will probably go in Michigan’s favor. Be sure to enjoy the huge rivalry against these two Great Lakes region universities. The stadium will be packed to the brim with thousands of fans. The smart money is on Michigan for the win.
At 12:20 PM EST No. 3 Alabama vs. Kentucky will begin. This game should be fairly straightforward, with a likely win for No. 3 Alabama team that has proven to be very strong this year. Later, at 1:00 PM EST No. 10 Cincinnati vs. Miami Ohio will start, offering the Ohioans a rumble on their home turf that promises to be an exciting game.
The next wave of games starts at 3:00 PM EST, with No. 4 LSU vs No. 18 Georgia. This is the only major afternoon game between two top 20 teams, and will be a good chance to put LSU to the test. Should they lose, they’ll drop back a few places, and Georgia would certainly come up in the rankings. At 3:30 PM EST, No. 15 Penn State takes on Illiniois. The fighting Illini will have their work cut out for them, and you’ll probably find yourself bouncing between this game LSU vs. Georgia.
Most of the evening games start at 7:00 PM, with No. 9 Ohio State taking on Indiana. Also, at 7:30 PM, No 25 Georgia Tech will play Mississippi State. Georgia tech is on the bubble in the national rankings, and will definitely need to win this game to keep their rightful place in the top 25. Then at 8:00 PM EST, No. 7 USC plays No. 24 California, in what promises to be a great matchup between two top ranked teams. USC seems like the safe bet, but you never know with college football.
The last game of the day is at 10:30 PM EST featuring Colorado State against Idaho.
Then, it’s off to bed for a breather until NFL action the next day. Week 4 NFL sports betting promises to be one of the most exciting weekends yet. One of the great games to watch will be the Ravens vs. Patriots at 1:00 PM EST. The undefeated Ravens will look to discourage the Patriots from picking up another win. Before you bet, however, make sure you check the spread: at the time this post was published, it was -2/+2 Patriots/Ravens. The Ravens probably deserve more credit than that, since many thought it was conceivable they would be the game favorite.
The 8:20 PM EST night game also looks good: the bedraggled Pittsburgh Steelers will take on the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers will be looking for validation, with the Steelers will need redemption after last weekend’s bitter loss to a feisty Cincinnati Bengals squad that came ready to play. That game was close: 23-20 Bengals; and so should this weekend’s blowout with the Chargers. Will the Steelers get their groove back? Tune in to find out!
