The bill was signed by Governor Ralph Northam. Upon sponsoring the bill, Mark Sickles, a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, said the following: “Virginia sports cannot be bet… and the Senate is livid about this, by the way.”
The Virginia Lottery now regulates all Virginia sports betting sites in the Old Dominion.
