Buffalo Bills (+180)
Josh Allen and the Bills braved the conditions in Buffalo as they defeated the New York Jets on Sunday. It was a big divisional matchup for the Bills, as they avenged their loss earlier this season against the Jets. This Bills team was the preseason favorite to win the Super Bowl; unsurprisingly, they are the favorite through 14 weeks. Unfortunately, Allen’s elbow injury has limited him for quite a few weeks, which does not bode well for the long-term prospects of the Bills this season. The odds appear to be a bit too high for the keen eyes of bettors.
Kansas City Chiefs (+225)
The Chiefs have championship experience, and Patrick Mahomes continues to play strong football. Kansas City scored 34 points on Sunday, winning by six points in Denver. Although Mahomes’ offense is without playmaker Tyreek Hill — who is in Miami — the Chiefs are among the league’s best and have scored the most points of any AFC team this season. Yet, the best point differential in the AFC is with the Bills, who have won four consecutive games. The Chiefs will need a winning streak of their own if they want better odds of winning the AFC.
Cincinnati Bengals (+600)
The Bills and Chiefs are by far the strongest teams in the AFC, but the dark horse appears to be Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals. Unfortunately, they have dealt with quite a few injuries this season. Neither Tee Higgins nor Tyler Boyd recorded a catch for the Bengals in their 23-10 victory. However, Burrow still had Ja’Marr Chase, who went for 10 receptions and 119 yards with a touchdown. Joe Mixon added 106 scrimmage yards, and his backup Samaje Perine even added a touchdown. Burrow finally beat the Cleveland Browns for the first time in his career, and the victory was a big one for the defending AFC champion Bengals. It will be beneficial for this Cincinnati team to be close to the top of the AFC to give the Bengals a good chance at repeating as conference champions.
