2014 NLDS Game 2 San Francisco Giants vs Washington Nationals
This game proved to be another pitching duel of sorts. Washington held a 1-0 lead needing three outs in the top of the ninth. Jordan Zimmerman allowed three hits in a shut-out bid, and this was six days after he threw a no-hitter on the last day of the regular season. With two outs in the top of the ninth, Zimmerman walked Joe Panik, which led to him being removed from the game.
San Francisco pounced on the opportunity and tied the game behind an RBI single from Buster Posey.
From there both teams played lock-down baseball as neither team broke through in extra innings.
It was not until the top of the 18th that fans got some excitement. Leading off the top of the 18th Brandon Belt worked a full count before he launched a ball over the right field wall into the second deck. This moonshot gave the Giants a 2-1 lead.
With this win, the Giants posted its’ 10-straight win in the postseason, which dated back to the 2012 National League Championship Series.

The Mets won in extra innings in Game 5 2-1 in New York before heading to Houston for Game 6. This proved a crucial game as New York held a 3-2 lead in the series.
Bob Knepper of the Houston Astros stymied the New York offense. After a disappointing performance in Game 3 of the series, Knepper struck out six and surrendered just two hits heading into the top of the ninth inning.
With the nine, one and two hitters up, it looked like the Mets faced a tough challenge down 3-0 in the top of the ninth. But Lenny Dykstra led off with a triple before being knocked in by Mookie Wilson. Later in the inning, Keith Hernandez drove in Wilson and chased Knepper from the game. Eventually the Mets tied the game in the top of the ninth.
