Life in coaching is already tough. But slow starts in the Premier League, where the league champion and European qualifying spots are determined by regular season results, don’t leave much room for error.

Already, anyone who follows Premier League odds can see a few managers have already hit the unemployment line. Chelsea fired Thomas Tuchel following a loss in the UEFA Champion’s League earlier this month. Scott Parker didn’t survive August with Bournemouth, getting canned after a disappointing start.
What does that mean for the rest of the table? Let’s take a look at other coaches who may want to look over their shoulders.
Mr. Rodgers unhappy neighborhood
Leicester City winning the 2015-16 Premiere League championship was one of biggest surprises in recent sports history. The Foxes’ underdog run didn’t spark a long run of success. Leicester City sank back to 12th in the league the next season and hasn’t finished higher than fifth since.
However, this season has been especially bad for the Foxes. Leicester City has been outscored by eight goals in six league matches and only has a draw to their credit. While manager Bredan Rodgers doesn’t have the financial support of bigger clubs, management will expect more.
Leicester is currently in last place in the league, but have plenty of time to get above the relegation line. If the Foxes’ don’t stay up, however, Rodgers’ head could roll, if he makes to the end of the season at all.
Lampard doesn’t want to get sacked again
Everton boss Frank Lampard was a legendary player for Chelsea, but could be looking at his second termination as manger in a couple years. Everton has only recorded four points in its first six games, which has them just outside the relegation zone, but in a four-way tie for points with Aston Villa, West Ham and Nottingham Forest.
The Toffees haven’t been good on offense. Everton has only scored two goals and have yet to claim a victory. Lampard got terminated foll0wing 19 months as the Blues’ manage. If Everton is again locked in a relegation fight late in the season, the club could be in a position to make a change.
Lampard is 34-17-30 (win-draw-loss) as a manager in the EPL.
Gerard struggles to make the jump
Stephen Gerard is hoping to keep Aston Villa out of the relegation fight. In the first six games, the Claret & Blue have lost four of them. So far, Gerard hasn’t found life in the EPL kind while leading form the bench.
Gerard has collected an 11-6-16 record while leading Aston Villa. Before coming to the EPL, Gerard had managed Glasgow to a first division title in Scotland. Gerard, who is a legend on England’s national team, may be given time to work through this early funk, but it could be a difficult climb out of the hole.
Klopping out
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is unlikely to be put out to pasture. However, criticism will mount if the current pattern of results keep up. Liverpool has a +9 goal differential, but that is skewed by a 9-0 win over Bournemouth late in the season. While Klopp is unlikely to be given his walking papers, the Liverpool manager will need to up his game as the team has struggle both in EPL and Champion’s League play.
